M.S. Project

The M.S. project is designed to give the student practical experience in applying Occupational and Environmental Health concepts to real-world problems. The project is performed under the supervision of a faculty member of the School of Health Sciences or under co-supervision with a faculty member and another instructor approved by the student's advisory committee. The content of the project must be reviewed and approved by the student's advisory committee. A major report on the results of the project is required and must be approved by the student's advisory committee.

A minimum of 36 coursework credit hours with no more than 6 credit hours at the 300 or 400 level is required for the M.S. degree by coursework.

A full time student has a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester. In addition to the core course listed in the student's plan of study, the student's course load can be supplemented by electives.

In addition to the many course offerings in the School of Health Science and depending on the interests of the student, there are many more electives the student can chose throughout Purdue University.

Graduate courses taken while registered as a graduate student at Purdue University may be considered for fulfilling the plan of study requirements only if the student has received grades of C or better. For courses at the 300 or 400 level taken as a graduate student or courses that represent either undergraduate or graduate excess credit or transfer credit, grades of B or better are required for fulfilling plan of study requirements.
