About our Board Members

Stan Hampton is the Assistant Radiation Safety Officer in the Radiation Safety Office for Eli Lilly & Co., Indianapolis, IN.

Photo of Dr. Richard J. Vetter

Dr. Richard J. Vetter received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology from South Dakota State University and his Ph.D. in Health Physics from Purdue University. He is board certified by the American Board of Health Physics and the American Board of Medical Physics. Dr. Vetter served on the Purdue University faculty from 1970 to 1980 and has worked at Mayo Clinic since 1980. He is the Radiation Safety Officer for Mayo Clinic Rochester, Professor of Biophysics in the Mayo College of Medicine, and Director of Safety for Mayo Foundation.Dr. Vetter is past Editor-in-Chief of the Health Physics Journal and past president of the Health Physics Society and author or coauthor of more than 200 journal articles, book chapters, and technical reports. He has received outstanding alumnus awards from the Purdue School of Pharmacy and Pharmacal Sciences and from South Dakota State University.He is a member of the Radiation Advisory Committee, Science Advisory Board of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Advisory Committee for Medical Use of Isotopes of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission; and member of the Board of Directors of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements.Dr. Vetter and his wife, Jan, live in Rochester, Minnesota.

Brent Murphy, MS, DABR, is a board certified Physicist with over 17 years of experience. He comes to CCC/GHS from Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Indiana where he was specifically responsible for development of the radiation therapy department including, CT Simulation, 3D Treatment Planning, IMRT Implementation, BrainLab's Stereotactic Radiosurgery Program, Cordis Vascular Brachytherapy Program, and Physician Peer Review Program.

Brent Murphy began his education at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., where he earned his Bachelors in Health Physics in 1986. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Army and was the Radiation Safety Officer for a Broad Scope NRC license. His responsibilities included formulating, implementation, and directing a comprehensive Radiation Protection Program in Honolulu, Hawaii. After the Army, Brent was the Clinical Therapy Physicist at Queen's Medical Center where he was responsible for all aspects of oncology physics for the largest treatment facility in the Pacific Basin. After four years at Queen's Medical Center, Brent became the Senior Medical Physicist at Saint Francis Medical Center where he was responsible for the development of a Medical Physics Department to support Hawaii's first cancer care clinic. During his time in Hawaii, he was enrolled as an M.B.A. student at Hawaii Pacific University and graduated in May 1991. Brent also received his Master of Medical Physics from University of Wisconsin, Madison in December 1993. His accomplishments over the past decade include 9 Years Instructor for Dosimetry / Physics Courses, 5 Years ARC Dosimetry School Lead Instructor > 90% Pass Rate for Students (23/25), 11 Years CT Simulation, 11 Years 3-D Treatment Planning, 8 Years IMRT, Trained over 100 Institutions in IMRT, Trained over 200 Physicians in IMRT, 5 Years Stereotactic Radiosurgery, 14 Years HDR, 14 Years LDR, 1 Year Vascular Brachytherapy, 11 Years Radiation Safety Officer, 5 Sites (Cancer Center) Project manager, and NRRPT Certified

Dr. Wei Zheng is an Associate Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Sciences at Purdue University, the Head of School of Health Sciences, and a Professor of Health Sciences and Toxicology. You can read more about Dr. Zheng on his official web page.


 

Deborah Wilbur is the scientist who directions the Office of Emergency Response at the Departments's National Nuclear Security Administration, US Department of Energy, Washington, DC 20585, USA.

Lynne Fairobent is the Director of Federal Programs within the American College of Radiology, Reston, VA.
