Dr. Galen F. Collins, a native of Indiana, received a B.S. degree in pharmacy from Purdue University in 1949. This degree was followed by an M.S. degree in 1952 and a Ph.D. degree in 1953 from Purdue University, both with a major in pharmaceutical chemistry.

He is a member of several professional societies, being a fellow of both the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Institute of Chemistry. He is a licensed pharmacist in Indiana.

Dr. Collins has had a long and distinguished career in pharmaceutical and clinical diagnostic research. He has worked for Miles Laboratories, Inc. (1953-60), the former Norwich Pharmacal Co. (1961-62), the former S. E. Massengill Co. (1963-71), and the former American Hospital Supply Corp. (1971-81). In 1982, he accepted a position as Manager, Research and Development, at C.B. Fleet Co., Inc., a position which he now holds.

Dr. Collins and his wife Ann Averitt have four children, Amy, Daniel, Galen, and Scott.
