School of Health Sciences - Wayne McKeehan 1992 Distinguished Alumnus Dr. Wayne McKeehan, a native of Indiana, received a B.S. degree in pharmacy from Purdue University in 1951. This degree was followed by an M.S. degree in 1953 and a Ph.D. degree in 1957 from Purdue University, both with a major in pharmaceutical chemistry.
He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1953 to 1955. He is a registered pharmacist in Indiana.
His long and distinguished career with Eli Lilly and Company began in 1957, ending with his retirement in 1991. During this time he held many research and management positions, the last being Head, Dry Products Development. His research interests included the physical chemistry of pharmaceutical dosage forms, the characterization of raw materials, biopharmaceutics, and project management.
Dr. McKeehan and his wife Helen have four children, Karen, Stuart, Mark, and Brian.
